Here is the solution you've been searching for.
The kit is clamped on so it uses both form and thight fit.That's why it works on good or bad threads, it just doesn't matter.
We can offer them for BMW 2V Boxer airheads with
52mm threads (800/1000 cm3) and exhaustpipe diameter 38mm and 40mm
48mm threads (450/650 cm3) and exhaustpipe diameter of 36mm
For example R45 , R65 , R80 , R100 , G/S , R , RT , RS , CS , RR , CC , R100RT , R100RT , R100RT , R100RS , R100R , R100GS , R80RT , R80RS , R80GS , R80G/S , and probably also for R70/90 , but please check threads and exhaustpipe diameter. Also be sure the cone rings are used, parts want work propper older gasket stiles.
To help you find out what size you need, while you're not aware of measuring equipment
BMW did not import any '78 R100RSs into the US with 40 mm exhaust.
AND virtually ALL '77 R100RSs (except one) came into the US with wire wheels,
plus most if not all had 40 exhaust mm in '77.
The way to tell if it has 40 or 38 mm exhaust is to look under the bike
near the footrest, at the muffler clamp.
If it is stamped with a 42, the clamp covers a 40 mm exhaust.
However, if it is stamped with a 40, it covers a 38 mm exhaust.
